FAQ

What are archival inks and paper?
As with any printing process, the inks used in digital printing can be subject to deterioration over time if exposed to direct sunlight or harsh lighting or if prints are produced with inexpensive, substandard papers and ink sets. It’s always a good idea to verify with a printer exactly what materials are being used to render their products. Penny Prints Press uses 8 color Epson pigmented inks and Hahnemühle 310gsm Photo Rag® paper. Both set the highest standards for quality of feel, appearance and durability in their industries.

What if I want to return an image after purchasing?
If you’re not satisfied with your purchase, we will happily refund your payment after receiving the print that you’re returning in the same condition in which it was sent. Packing and shipping fees, however, will not be reimbursed.

Please send returns to the following address:

If requested, can you print an image at a size other than the the print listed for sale?
We will consider a proposal, taking several factors into consideration: The specifics of the request, production and shipping costs, and whether the proposal fits within our concept, built around the limited edition versioning of our prints. If you’re interested in exploring ideas, drop us an email. If we can, we aim to please.

How do you calculate prices for your images?
Pricing any work of art can seem almost unfathomable. The opening bid for a deceased master photographer's work at auction might conservatively run somewhere in the neighborhood of $40 per square inch. A talented emerging photographer, on the other hand, might sell for, perhaps, $2 per square inch. There are, however, no hard and fast rules, and no one is obligated to adhere to those few ephemeral guidelines that do exist.

Our initial offerings are priced at a square inch cost below 50 cents. As editions sell, this baseline will “inch” higher. From an economic standpoint, then, if you like one of our images, it’s always better to buy early rather than late. It's our belief that, as we progress into the digital age, a compelling fine print on paper, purchased at the right price, will only increase in value.

Do you ship outside the United States?
Yes, absolutely! However, international shipping costs must, of course, be applied. To mitigate cost to you we will ship at the lowest price available in your country unless you specify a faster, albeit more expensive option.

Will you accept Paypal for payment?
Our credit card service provider doesn’t account for Paypal payments. If you would prefer to pay via Paypal, please let us know and we will send you our Paypal particulars.
